When choosing a mobile phone there are many things to consider. What you will primarily use the phone for is one thing to consider. Will it be used as an extension of the office or will it be used mainly for communication and fun. There are many different models on the market and they all have different variety of functions.

Another thing to consider is whether or not to take out a contract or pay-as-you-go payment plan. Each has its merits and these must be taken into consideration. Contracts are convenient as they allow you to pay for your call time after you have used it. Always having call time available means that you won’t ever risk not being able to make a call as you have run out of minutes. Contracts minutes are always cheaper too as you receive a discount for pre-buying them. The downside to a contract is that even if you don’t use your inclusive minutes you still get billed or them.

Pay-as-you-go plans are convenient for some as anyone can just buy a sim card and start to use it. You can top the card up at many locations such newsagents, phone shops and now even ATM machines. The downside to a pay-as-you-go plan is that the minute are more expensive and that once you have used all of your calltime you are effectively without a phone until you top up.
