If you are company that wants to scale down your surveillance and fire security options but do not want to lose the protection you have changing to an integrated system may benefit you. Rather then using an individual intruder, fire alarm, CCTV and access control system you can combine them all into one manageable systems. Designing a system from scratch will cater for all your needs and ensure you have as much protection necessary. This can work for a commercial business or for you home but designing a system for a home will be on a smaller scale and will not have an access control system. Purchasing individual surveillance systems can be more costly then having one bespoke system built. Whilst the one off cost maybe more you will have less maintenance and up keep on all the separate systems.
Integrating your surveillance systems into one manageable system not only saves on multiple servicing cost but can be less complicated to learn all of the different system. If you do not feel comfortable combining all systems you can combine your CCTV system with your intruder alarm. The CCTV will only kick in when your intruder alarm sounds or when suspicious activity is taking place. If you chose this combination and the intruder alarm fails to signal then your CCTV may not kick in. If you are worried about this then your bespoke integrated system should be able to be adapted to keep the CCTV on at all times. The purpose built system you chose should be built to your needs so if you require your access control system to be linked with your fire alarm then that is what should happen. When designing the system you would need to think logically if the systems will be linked in anyway. There would be no point in linking to surveillance or fire systems together if they were not going to benefit from each other. All homes and businesses would like the most up to date surveillance system possible but sometimes cash flow does not allow this, you should always get the best equipment that you can afford.
