The iPhone is regarded worldwide as one of the most fantastic and innovative mobile phones on this planet. I doubt there is anyone that has not seen or used an iPhone and what they are capable of. From daily communication, a huge range of great apps, multimedia and a quality build and finish that many other manufacturers find hard to match. The one and only downside of such a quality mobile phone is of course the price! Well I sure could not afford this mobile phone, so I bought a second hand iPhone online. Buying these phones in used condition is a great way to save mega money over purchasing them at retail prices. You often find that many owners have well looked after their iPhone in some kind of cover or case, so you can normally find one with no internal or external damage at all! With many people buying this kind of phone as an impulse buy, you often find them for sale after only a couple of weeks or months of the seller buying it. This is a perfect opportunity to buy a “as new” iPhone which is highly reduced because it has been taken out the box and used. Make sure that you fully check that the item is in working condition before handing over your hard earned money!

Have you heard of the HP Veer? It is the cutest smartphone with a 2.6″ screen and it s about the size of a credit card. It is a bit thicker than a credit card of course and it is webOS-based. Inside is the Snapdragon processor running at 800MHz making it run smoothly with fewer pixels to drive. It offers a slide-out QWERTY keyboard that is also tiny, which is the most impressive of all.

Even those with adult sized hands can use this tiny keyboard so you must try it to believe it. It is said the Veer is a credible alternative to the Android and iPhone. The iPad too has made recent headlines as it will soon be offered on Jetstar flights beginning in April.

It was tested for its entertainment purpose on flights lasting more than one hour. After the two week successful test period, fliers will soon be able to rent a iPad for $10 during their flight. If you already own an iPad, you will want to read more here about the best iPad apps that are available. From tools to Pandora and over one hundred different solitaire games that will certainly develop a strong following.

In this video, some of the useful functions of LG’s new Optimus One smartphone are shown off. In the words of Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company: ”The LG Optimus Series is aimed at challenging the notion that one device can meet the needs of many,”

“At LG, we believe in providing people with many different choices because our customers are not all alike. We want to provide devices that suit all needs and simplify people’s lives” said Ahn.

In this treasure hunting video, we can see the Optimus One’s camera, image search, navigation and augmented reality applications. Judging by the One’s specifications and looks, it seems LG are certainly trying to make this a smartphone for both the technology and style-conscious.
The handset carries a 600MHz chip, 3.2-inch 320 x 480 LCD capacitive touchscreen, and the usual wireless package (802.11b/g WiFi, A-GPS, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, and FM radio). Although perhaps not as cutting-edge as some of the high-end smartphones, it’s clear LG have focused on usability and fitting the right technology, for the right price. With the Optimus One, it’s fair to say LG are definitely at the Smartphone party – but can they challenge the likes of Apple, HTC, Nokia and Samsung?

In this latest video from Nokia, you can see how people are really getting creative with the N8 handset. From hamster-powered phone chargers to a device that actually scores your real-life skateboard tricks as you pull them off, there really are some great ideas!

One feature of the N8 that allows a multitude of applications has to be the high definition camera. With a large 12 MP sensor and Carl Zeiss optics you can capture great images. The Xenon flash allows you to take good pictures in low-light conditions as well. Also there’s plenty of room to store pictures and video with reams of internal storage and a high end media player.

The N8 is the first Nokia handset to use Symbian^3 – the latest version of the open source OS. Symbian^3 has been created with touch screens in mind and supports gestures such as multi touch, flick scrolling and pinch-zoom. Symbian^3 also promises better memory management for faster multi-tasking, which is great news for another reason: the general day to day UI should be a much more pleasant experience to use, which has been something of a criticism labelled at the high end phones like the N97 and N97 mini.

Find out more about the projects and the brilliant people behind the innovative uses for the N8 at nokia.com/nseries or pre order yours at www.nokia.com/n8

Many of us use our phones for more than just communicating with friends. Our phones have become a tool for business, entertainment, and an essential resource in every day life. No matter what model phone you have, or what carrier you’re signed with, you can find plenty of options for practical, and functional features. If you want to utilize your a phone’s true potential, here are some guidelines to follow.

First, consider what you’d like to use your phone for. If you plan on using it for business, for example, your needs might be different. Finding a device that allows conference calling is probably essential, as is a phone with internet capability. To get into more specific details, you may require a data transfer plan and a reliable network to support your browsing. Having a service plan you can trust will be a priority if you rely on your phone for different aspects of your work. You may also want to consider buying a device that also has wi fi connectivity, which gives you more options for internet usage. The limit on your plan will probably be another big focal point, considering how much data and time you’ll actually be spending on your phone. Some services allow unlimited, and others have a monthly allotment. Depending on how much you’re able to spend per month, you can weigh the pros and cons of having the freedom of unlimited data transfer.

Keeping up on the latest news, weather forecast, and other details all on your phone can easily increase your productivity. Having all the conveniences of your laptop in the small package of a phone, can give you the freedom you need on the go. Now you can stream the latest news coverage, conduct a conference call, and browse the internet all with your phone. Multitasking is increasingly easy with mobile devices that support a variety of functions. When shopping for your next cellphone, consider all these key points before purchasing. Also remember that your mobile is only as good as the service coverage that comes along with it. Be sure you are equipped with a plan that suits your needs, and doesn’t hold you back. Determine how much coverage you need, data transfer support options, and other special features that meet your requirements. There are a variety of devices and providers to choose from, always search the market to compare prices, support, and service standards.

Cheap phones and outdoor phones isn’t something that would normally go together, but Samsung appear to have got the hang of mixing different worlds, and the B2700 is proof of that.

Flashlight. This phone has one. It’s the ultimate outdoors phone, shock proof, water tight and excellent coverage for when you’re out in the woods or high on some desert hill. And it has a flashlight.

It doesn’t have any of the new-gen fancy features, like GPS or Wi-fi, but it does its job properly. It’s great at handling calls and texts, and it’s not without its tricks. The B2700 has an audio player and is Bluetooth compatible. It also plays video, and radio, which is nice to see on a rugged phone. But the really cool apps in this one are the outdoor ones: a digital compass/altimeter, pedometer, RSS reader, currency converter and world clock. Anything an outdoorsy man on the go would need.

Its great Achilles heel is battery life. With medium use, like a couple of hours of music and a few short calls, the phone would probably need to be recharged daily, which isn’t the most adventurous thing.

The new Pre has a Web operating system and will be available to O2 customers beginning on the 16th of October of this year. The Palm Pre will be available in the U.K. exclusively through O2, Carphone Warehouse, Phones4U and other O2 partner distributors. Later in October it will also be available in Ireland and Germany.

The GSM and UMTS version of the Pre will also be available, much different than the CDMA version that Sprint has been offering for several months. Besides the different network support, the two versions of the Palm Pre are very much identical.

O2 has made a very appealing offer, making it available for free on two different contracts: a 24 month contract, priced at 34.26 GBP per month; and on a 18 month contract at 44.05 GBP a month. All of the contracts for the Palm Pre include unlimited WiFi access through The Cloud and BT Openzone, and domestic HSDPA data.

The enV Touch breaks free of the style of it’s predecessors, and has more features than you’ll know what to do with. Previous enV handsets had numeric keypads on the front, and QWERTY keyboards on the flip side. The enV touch strays from that with a 3 inch full touch screen interface on the front, and another 3” internal display with accompanying QWERTY keyboard.

Other features include a 3.2 megapixel camera with many advanced settings, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The enV offers superior web browsing with EV-DO Rev. A, and a USB mass storage option. Communicate feely with AIM, Windows Live, Yahoo and mobile and corporate email support. You can even view Microsoft Office documents right on your mobile.

However, it isn’t without it’s faults. There is an obvious lack of Wi-Fi accessibility, and the touch-screen interface and web browsing could be better. The price isn’t exactly budget friendly either, going for $149.99 with a $70 mail-in rebate with a 2 year contract. But considering all of the features you get with the new enV, one can compare to similar phones going for almost double.

The Apple iPhone will now be legally sold within the borders of South Korea after a ruling by the South Korean government. The Korean Communications Commission has been known to protect their ‘home made’ brands through a series of technical rules, obviously favoring Samsung and LG. The iPhone has finally broke this tradition and will now be available to South Korean customers. However, there has been no talk of distribution partnerships, neither from Apple of any of the Korean carriers. But according to the Wall Street Journal, the second biggest South Korean carrier, KT, has said for months that it was in discussion with Apple.

With 93% of it’s population subscribing to mobile services, this means a big market for Apple to finally corner. And even though Samsung and LG both offer their own ‘iphone killers’ with touch-screen handsets, their sales have been stunted due to the lack of Korean-language software offered and high prices. But the decision to bring in the iPhone should change all that, bringing in more price competition for Smartphones, and the vast archive of software available from Apple rather than phone carriers.
